A Beautiful Place to Stay

Canterbury Hills Conference Centre has a dining hall and cabins nestled close together to foster fellowship and encourage interpersonal contact. It is located inside a beautiful wooded conservation area with hiking trails and nature walks, and a heated swimming pool for our exclusive use.

The cabins are warm and comfortable, with shared bedrooms, washrooms, and a lounge. There are 2 bunks (4 beds) per room. Since beds are pre-assigned, please indicate on the registration form if you'd like to room with another family or if you require a lower bunk.

Our deluxe semi-private accommodation at the Bothwell House is available at an extra charge, with 10 beds in a converted modern home on-site. They are available on a first come first served basis.

The meals are kosher dairy and vegetarian with substantial non-dairy choices. If you have special dietary needs, please indicate them on the registration form.

Off-site accommodation is available at local motels and B&B's. Let us know if you need directions.

A Great Place for Kids

The retreat is a place where it's safe to run around, with a big hill to roll down, and—returning this year—children's programs run by Sarah Brodbar-Nemzer. Highlights include:

Babysitting is provided in the evenings so parents can participate in programs.

Teenage participants will enjoy an interesting and educational program provided specifically for them.

Prayer, Study, and Song

The retreat will feature creative egalitarian services in a variety of styles in the Havurah tradition: innovative, spirited, and inspiring. This year's prayers include Hallel because our retreat takes place on Rosh Hodesh Tammuz.

There will be workshops and programs designed to stimulate your mind, your body, and your Jewish spirit.

There is opportunity to learn about Midrash, Torah, Jewish texts, modern-day issues and views and much more from other workshop participants and teachers with training and experience in Jewish study.

To charm and delight, there will be music and dance, some very traditional and familiar, and some very innovative and exciting. You can bring your musical instruments, songs and stories to share during the weekend.

Our retreat also features Friday night singing and storytelling, Shabbat meal z'mirot, a Saturday night campfire, and an instant choir.

Become part of this fun filled and inspiring weekend!
